Cllr Bolton explained that BIFFA had been experiencing difficulties in collections of Brown bins and that this has been addressed by TDC by giving more funds to allow more collections.
Cllr Greenfield talked about the Unitary and the work going on behind the scenes . He reported all officers were working hard to ensure services to public were not affected during the changes .
Members agreed to support the proposal and agreed to fund £1000 of the cost of the project.
The power for a parish council to install CCTV and other surveillance equipment is conferred under Local Government and Rating Act 1997 s.31:
“A parish council or community council may, for the detection or prevention of crime in their area – (a) install and maintain any equipment, (b) establish and maintain any scheme, or (c) assist others to install and maintain any equipment or to establish and maintain any scheme.”
Parish council asked that HRA ensured that all stake holders are collaborated with, including enforcement and neighbourhood rural crime police team where appropriate.
