Apologies for absence were received, noted and accepted from Cllr McArthur and Cllr McGregor.
Meeting closed 19.02.
District Cllr Morgan spoke regarding item 6.1, saying that he was mindful to support the application, but had concerns with the potential risk from run off water and questioned the mitigation for the effect of the water run off into the Kent Brook. Three members of public made representation regarding the same application (23/00505/FUL) that properties nearby were already prone to flooding when it rained heavily; one member of public, who lived close to the site showed members photos of their already flooded garden, and said that mitigation measures currently proposed would not be adequate. The residents present at the meeting had also commissioned their own flood risk report, of which all three who spoke were familiar with, and some of the comments made referred to the findings of that report. They all also commented that the local roads were not suitable for HGVs, and that especially Grants Lane was too narrow for HGVs to safely pass oncoming cars. Comments were made about concern over the impact on the Greenbelt. They also commented that the cumulative affect of development in the area would reduce the Greenbelt and harm the biodiversity, without demonstrating any contribution to rural diversification or benefiting the local economy. A spokesperson for the applicant for the applicant explained the method for mitigating flooding and that the new reduced schedule for HGV numbers had been stated in the application papers.
