London Gatwick is progressing an airspace change proposal (ACP) to reintroduce satellite-based navigation procedures on one of our aircraft departure routes – known as Route 4.

This proposal is essential because the ground-based navigation is gradually being phased out as part of a government programme to modernise UK airspace. All of London Gatwick’s other arrival and Main Runway departure routes have successfully adopted the new navigation procedures, leaving Route 4 as the only one needing updating.
