Councillor Stephen Sumner

Councillor Stephen Sumner has served on Edenbridge Town Council since September 2019 and has lived in the town since 2015. He became a councillor out of a desire to be involved in local decision-making and to help ensure Edenbridge remains a great place to live. Through his work on the Council, Stephen has developed a strong interest in how local government operates and in contributing to key decisions that affect the community.

Stephen is Chair of the Finance and Governance Committee, where he has gained valuable insight into public sector finance and council operations. He also takes a keen interest in forward planning and the development of the Local Plan. Outside of his council role, Stephen enjoys walking, cycling, dining out, and visiting local country pubs with his family.
