The Town Clerk has met with the KCC Highways Officer to look at the HIP.  Kent Highways are arranging two speed surveys, commencing 25th November for seven days, one at Lingfield Road and one at Crouch House Road.

Members should look to review the HIP during the first quarter of the new year.

The new Community Warden has completed their training for speedwatch and is in the process of arranging speedwatch sessions. The SID is back in rotation, and has recently been positioned in Mill Hill.

We have registered to take part in the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway | National Infrastructure Planning (planninginspectorate.gov.uk).

If members have any comments Councillors they will need to look at this consultation and work with the Planning Officer to submit their comments at the next phase

Gatwick train station has opened it's new concourse area with displays showing the history of the station.

Network Rail has concluded work on a piece of strategic advice to investigate whether there could be a case to reinstate direct services from Kent towns to Gatwick Airport. They expect to publish a short report in the coming months. The economic case for extending GTR services from Tonbridge to Redhill on to Gatwick is modest and would not require additional subsidy based on the 2019 timetable/operations. There would however be upfront costs.  Operators and DIT will review the proposal once they have a clearer position of industry finances and passenger demand following the December 2023 timetable change.
