Reference Clerk
What it is
The activity log is a running record of the significant actions taken on your council's meetings and agendas - who did them, and when. It is useful for answering "when did we publish that agenda?", "who switched the live version?", or simply for checking that a step was completed.
It records actions, not every page view: things like committing or publishing an agenda, switching the live version, and emailing councillors. It is scoped to your council only.
Where to find it
Go to Council > Activity Log in the left-hand menu.
What each row shows
The log is a table, most recent first, with:
- Date - when the action happened.
- Performed by - the staff member who did it.
- Action and Action type - what was done.
- Meeting and Agenda - the meeting and, where relevant, the agenda version the action relates to.
- Notes - any extra detail recorded with the action.
The list is paginated, 25 rows to a page.
Filtering
Use the filters at the top to narrow the list down:
- By user - show only actions performed by one staff member.
- By action type - show only one kind of action.
- Order - newest first (the default) or oldest first.
Apply the filters to find, for example, every time a particular agenda was published, or everything one colleague did.
Related records
The activity log covers actions on meetings and agendas. To see the emails that were actually sent to councillors - and whether they were delivered - use Reviewing emails sent. For what triggers those emails in the first place, see Councillor notifications.
